2016 is already rolling like hell, but before we go to that, we would like to take you on a ride for the 2015 recap!
The year starts off in the beautiful Quebradillas, Puerto Rico for the Guajataca Downhill. It was the very first International Longboard Race that Ionic Flux got as a sponsor, and man, that was worth it! Flux riders Emily Pross and Hector “Chino” Reyes got 1st place in their categories. Also, the parties were dope, and the vibe was legit.
In August, “Chino” was again on the podium in 6th place in the Junior category in Crash Boat Downhill. Way to go bro!
Every November, the Fiesta Island in San Diego receives the Adrenalina Skate Marathon. There’s a 3.5 hour limit for this 42km battle of fitness, endurance and skateboarding prowess. Thomas C Slager was aiming to keep his crown, and that was exactly what he did when he crossed the finish line first after 1 hour and 33 minutes. Ionic Flux Team Rider Harrison Tucker came in 5th with a time of 01:48:15.37.

During the whole year, we were able to ride along Emily Pross in some great rounds of IDF: Maryhill Festival of Speed, TMI Lilyhammer and Kozakov Challenge. With four wins and 5611 points, Emily Pross became the 2015 Women’s IDF World Champion. We will definitely look out for Emily this year where she will be defending her title and looking to improve on her groundbreaking 26th place overall finish in the open class. Oh yeah!

Oh wait, we have another IDF Champion: Guto Negão! Check Guto in action in Verdicchio Race and Mega Grand Prix. Until the last IDF round in Brazil, Mega Grand Prix, anything could happen, and on Nov 1st, Ionic Flux rider Carlos Augusto Correia Paixão pushed out in front for an unprecedented win by a Brazilian rider since the IDF’s creation. Parabéns cara!

Besides this amazing riders, we also had some great interviews with the team riders, sick tunes (playlists: Roll Like Hell, SK8 Life, Smooth Ride) and dope wallpapers (Got Grease, Hawk, Smooth Ride). If you want to submit a design (or an idea for one), click here to drop Chris a line.
Btw, have you meet Chris? You can view him talking aboutBlack Steel, longboarding, Estonia, childhood (!?) and cold water (!?) in this super interview that he gave for ISPO’15 along Abraham Paskowitz from Carver Skateboards and Jerry Madrid from Madrid Skateboards.
If you are curious to know how Ionic Flux Black Steel works, we have a foolproof tech infographic. Yeah science, bitch!
Also, you can go over the Estonian Longboard Scene to see where the inspiration comes and learn a little bit more about Ionic Flux homeland.
